Police: The child was unattended

A fire in Miag-ao’s Barangay Igpuro-Bariri last Tuesday left a one-year-old boy dead. Authorities identified the fatality as Ryan Andaya, who sustained burns across his body.
According to police, the fire began at 3:30 p.m. The child was left alone as his mother was attending a meeting at the local barangay hall. The fire spread throughout the house quickly and also affected a nearby home, owned by a certain Samuel Nangan.
The Bureau of Fire and Protection believe a short circuit from an electric fan caused the blaze./WDJ
