Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, alongside 63rd Special Action Company commander, Police Captain Ricardo I. Patting, led a wreath-laying to commemorate the anniversary of the Mamasapano clash, where 44 members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) were killed in 2015.
Officials met with the kin of slain SAF officers from the region.
“The Mamasapano incident is a reminder of the courage and bravery of the police officers despite the dangers they meet,” law enforcement said in a press release. “What happened to them should not discourage but rather inspire police officers to do more than just being members [of] their organization.”
Around 300 uniformed and non-uniformed PRO-6 personnel participated in the ceremony./WDJ
