Victim’s father: The incident was drug-related

The body of a drug offender who was reportedly abducted last Wednesday was found early yesterday morning at the East Homes 6 Subdivision in Bacolod City’s Barangay Mansilingan. Authorities identified the fatality as 33-year-old Richard Tutop of Purok Cereza South in the city’s Barangay 3.

The victim had previously surrendered to law enforcement and was recently released from jail after being detained on illegal drug charges.

According to police, Tutop was abducted by three unidentified suspects aboard a gray pickup at Bangga Cereza South in the city’s Barangay 3.

Police Station 7 personnel responded after receiving a call just after midnight reporting the discovery of a dead body along the road in front of the subdivision entrance.

Police found Tutop’s mouth was taped and his hands were tied behind his back. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the body and head.

Investigators recovered five empty shells from Tutop’s body, along with two transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.

The victim’s remains were identified by his father, who believes the incident was related to his involvement with a drug syndicate. He added, he had previously advised his son to stop the illicit activity.

However, Tutop’s live-in partner denied her partner used drugs./DGB, WDJ
