Structures will serve as loading/unloading areas

The Iloilo City government will build 26 waiting sheds along Diversion Road in Iloilo City’s Mandurriao district. According to City Engineer’s Office officer-in-charge, Engr. Salvador Pedregosa, “Mayor Jerry P. Treñas already directed the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office to identify the areas or locations where the waiting-sheds will be erected.”
The mayor said the structures will serve as loading/unloading areas.
“We need passengers to line up for a ride,” he explained. “We want to show that, here in Iloilo City, we follow traffic rules and regulations.”
The waiting sheds, which are expected to be constructed within the year, are part of the city’s “Traffic Discipline Zone” project.
Meanwhile, the mayor said their next zone will be a stretch of McArthur Drive from Barangays Tabuc Suba to Balantang in the city’s Jaro district./WDJ
