Escoto joins Blackwater

Following his stint with Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MBPL) team, the Iloilo United Royals, Richard Escoto recently agreed to a two-year PBA rookie contract with Blackwater Elite. However, he will not make his formal PBA debut until after the 2019-2020 MBPL season.
With the Elite, Escoto will reunite with his former Far Eastern University coach Nash Racela, who currently mentors Blackwater and serves as a team consultant for Iloilo.
This season, Escoto has averaged 14.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 24.21 minutes of action for the Iloilo United Royals.
Meanwhile, Blackwater Elite also signed Maurice Shaw to a three-year contract; acquired Chris Bitoon on a one-year rookie deal; and extended contracts for Shej Roi Sumang, Chris Javier, and Matthew Salem./ASC, WDJ
