The police had arrested a man during a checkpoint in Barangay R. Armada in Iloilo’s Janiuay town for possessing an unlicensed firearm.

Taken to Janiuay Police Station was Romy Pancrudoi, 48 of Barangay Janipaan Oeste in the province’s Cabatuan town.

Pancrudo was arrested at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday when he passed by the police checkpoint.

The suspect yielded a caliber .45 pistol with a bullet, a magazine with seven bullets, and a holster.

The suspect failed to present the license of his gun, thus he will be charged for violation of RA 10591, or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./WDJ
