The Department of Labor and Employment-Capiz (DOLE-Capiz) field office, in coordination with the Public Employment Service Office-Panay and Barangay Navitas of Panay, Capiz, conducted an outreach program last month for 50 child laborers in the municipality.
The program, dubbed Project Angel Tree, discourages the practice of child labor and seeks involvement from parents and the local community to ensure children are safe and protected from exploitation.
The beneficiaries were provided food, including ride, noodles, and canned sardines.
DOLE-Capiz noted, “Poverty is not a hindrance but still an opportunity to see everyone’s potential and develop our ambition to uplift our economic status.”/WDJ
