The Iloilo City government revealed they are planning to construct condominium housing for city employees. According to Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, a 120-unit development will be built this year in the Jaro district’s Barangay San Isidro.
Initial estimates for the development are projected to be P88 million.
“We have the property and we also have the funds,” the mayor stated.
Treñas said their priority are city government employees without their own residence.
“We have to start with the permanent [employees],” he said.
Meanwhile, the mayor said a similar project is being planned for informal settlers, which will likely be built in Barangay Sambag, also in the Jaro district./WDJ
