PDRRMO: Rainy celebration projected for Negros

The Negros Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) is advising Negrenses to brace for a rainy Christmas. PDRRMO head, Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, said two low pressure areas are expected to bring rains to the province.
Based on a seven-day forecast and extended weather outlook, scattered rain showers are anticipated.
He noted, from Friday to Christmas Day, Negros Occidental may experience light to moderate rains with the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” mostly affecting parts of the province.
Temperatures are expected to range between 25°C to 30°C over the next seven days.
Meanwhile, Caelian also said that they are closely monitoring two other low pressure areas that may enter the Philippine area of responsibility.
While the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has yet to confirm if the areas will develop into storms, the US Navy Joint Typhoon Warning Center based in Guam reports one may develop into a tropical depression before Christmas Day./DGB, WDJ
