With the Meralco Bolts and TNT KaTropa currently tied 1-1 in their 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinal series, the two are set to battle in Game 3 tonight, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Meralco tied up the series earlier this week after winning Game 2, 114-94.
Allen Durham led the win with a triple-double on 44 points, 19 rebounds, and 11 assists; while Baser Amer contributed 20 markers, including four three-pointers.
The Bolts zoomed to an 18-3 start with triples from Amer and Kier Quinto before Durham penetrated through the KaTropa defense and increased their lead to 35-16.
Into the second period, outside hits from Durham, coupled with three-point conversions from Amer and Quinto, saw Meralco’s lead swell to 63-29 by halftime.
The KaTropa offered up a strong third quarter and cut the Bolts’ 35-point edge to 22 but Durham answered for Meralco and managed to keep their opponents at bay.
Despite the loss, KJ McDaniels tallied 51 points and nine rebounds for TNT, while Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. added 12 markers./ASC, WDJ
