Man arrested for cultivating marijuana in Taculing

A 47-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning after allegedly cultivating marijuana inside his home at the Doña Juliana Subdivision in Bacolod City’s Barangay Taculing.
Police identified the suspect as Albert Lopez.
Based on information forwarded by the Bacolod City Police Office, the suspect’s mother and sister visited Police Station 6 and reported Lopez for cultivating marijuana plants within their compound.
Police immediately visited the home and discovered he was growing 14 marijuana plants in four pots.
Authorities immediately arrested the suspect.
When asked by police, the suspect denied he was planning to sell the plants but admitted they were for personal use.
Aside from the marijuana plants, which were valued around P5,000, police also recovered a smoking pipe, along with a plastic bag containing dried marijuana stalks and leaves.
Lopez faces illegal drugs charges and is detained at PS6./DGB, WDJ
