Local environmental council created

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Third District Rep. Francisco Bentiez, and the mayors of various localities yesterday signed a memorandum of agreement creating the Coastal Resources Management and Development Council, which will focus on restoration and conservation of coastal resources.
Among the local officials signing onto the agreement included EB Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon, Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III, Silay City Mayor Mark Golez, and Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas.
Also present for the event were World Wide Fund for Nature-Philippines Vice President Chrisma Salao; Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Region VI Director Remia Aparri; and Negros Occidental provincial agriculturist, Atty. Japhet Masculino./WDJ
