The Negros Occidental provincial government, through its security and safety division, will implement new strategies to ensure the security of Capitol facilities. Acting division head Renelo Lastierre yesterday revealed he conducted an evaluation and inspection of the current strategic security set-up at 11 district hospitals including the Mambukal Mountain Resort and Panaad Park and Stadium.
“All illegal structures inside these facilities have been slowly cleared,” he added.
Lastierre noted, for hospitals, security concerns will be reported directed to the security division and the Office of the Provincial Administrator. Under the previous system, such matters were handled by the hospital administrative officer.
He also pointed out, their 24 regular guards are currently augmented by 340 private security agency guards detailed at all facilities owned by the provincial government.
Lastierre noted, an additional 30 guards have been requested. He also recommended the installation of additional closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at various provincial government-run facilities, especially at the district hospital.
“This will ensure that visitors will have their faces clearly recorded by the CCTV aside from logging in,” he explained. “It will ensure the safety of our doctors, nurses, and patients.”/DGB, WDJ
