Following the recent signing of President Proclamation No. 845, which formally declared special and regular holidays in 2020, the Philippine Information Agency, through a social media post, pointed out there will be nine long weekends next year.
Notably, the Araw ng Kagitingan and the Holy Week observances of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday offer a four-day weekend; while August offers two consecutive long weekends as Ninoy Aquino Day is observed on August 21, a Friday; and National Heroes Day on August 31, a Monday.
Additionally, by the end of the year, Christmas break begins on December 24, a Thursday; while Rizal Day kicks off the New Year’s break on December 30, a Wednesday./WDJ
