Over 100 indigent beneficiaries from the 5th district of Negros Occidental recently gathered at Benjamin Hall in Bacolod City to receive their cash payouts for medical and burial assistance.
Congresswoman Ma. Lourdes “Marilou” T. Arroyo, Vice Chairperson for House Health Committee, through the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD), catered constituents from the city of Himamaylan and municipalities of Isabela, La Castellana, Binalbagan, Moises Padilla, and Hinigaran .
She said that the cash payouts would aid the needy, particularly the growing number of patients suffering from kidney diseases.
“I am very blessed to be in this position where I can help the people in my district, particularly those who are in need of medical assistance, which is a top priority for me,” Arroyo said.
The legislator also extended her assurance and commitment in bringing progress to the 5th district through different programs.
“This is only just the beginning, and I am working hard to bring more programs to health, education, infrastructure, and livelihood for our district that will benefit our people,” she added.
Arroyo allotted a total of P5 million to the SWAD as part of her social service project, October to December 2019 inclusive./DGB, WDJ
