Festivities seek to ‘preserve religiosity’

According to San Jose Placer Parish Church parish priest, Fr. Raymundo Edsel Alcayaga, next year’s Dinagyang Festival, which runs from January 24 to 26, will highlight the religious elements of the annual event.
“We are excited to experience Dinagyang and to preserve its religiosity,” he said. “We have to take care of the sacred image of Señor Santo Niño.”
Among the events scheduled include a fluvial and solemn foot procession on January 24 and the Religious Sadsad, a streetdancing event, the following day.
In addition, a mass will be held before events on both January 25 and 26./WDJ
