Nearly 200 attend ‘Fun Food Talks’ in Bacolod City

Over 180 individuals attended the “Fun Food Talks” event over the weekend at the Negros Residences in Bacolod City. The gathering was organized by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and World Food Expo Philippines.
Aside from those in the culinary sector, students from across the city also attended.
The event highlight featured a panel of chefs, moderated by Margarita Forés, founder of the Cibo chain of restaurants. According to DOT, the panel was comprised of “global chefs who have raised the level of Filipino cuisine on the world stage.”
The panelists included Tom Cunanan, who won the James Beard award this year for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic; television personality, comedian, and actor Lanai Tabura; and Charles Olalia, chef and co-owner of Ma’am Sir, a Filipino restaurant and bar in Los Angeles.
Apart from an interactive discussion, the chefs also held cooking demonstrations./WDJ
