UST beats FEU, advances to the finals
By Adrian Stewart Co

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) earned a spot in the 82nd UAAP women’s basketball finals following their 76-65 victory over Far Eastern University (FEU) over the weekend at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Grace Irebu, who was named Most Valuable Player, powered UST with 28 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks; while Lon Rivera unfurled 13 points and five boards.
UST pulled off the win after overcoming a surge by Feu that saw their lead drop from 43-21 to 70-65. The UST defense was highlighted by Eka Soriano’s crucial steal on a Choy Bahuyan pass to Fatima Quiapo in the final minute.
“The program has no shortcut; you have to work for it and, finally, we’re in the finals,” said UST head coach Haydee Ong. “This is a tribute to the Thomasian community and to everyone who supported us along the way.”
