Schröck, Ott off Ceres FC roster
By Adrian Stewart Co

With midfielders Mike Ott and Stephan Schröck, defenders Sean Kane and Carli de Murga, and striker OJ Porteria called up by the Philippine men’s national football team, the Azkals, to play in the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds, the five players will not be available when Ceres-Negros FC faces Kaya FC-Iloilo in the 2019 Copa Paulino Alcántara finals this weekend at the Biñan Football Stadium in Laguna.
The schedule leaves the much-hyped ‘Visayas Clásico’ final without some of the league’s most notable names.
Recently, Schröck was recognized by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) and was included in the AFF Best XI during this year’s AFF Awards.
However, the Bacolod City-based club still has midfielder Bienvenido Marañon and striker Robert Lopez Mendy set to take the pitch, both of whom have contributed a multitude of goals this season in various competitions.
Kaya FC will be defending their cup title in their match against Ceres FC, who earlier secured their third consecutive Philippines Football League (PFL) championship.
The Negrense side swept all four of their meetings in this season’s PFL./ASC, WDJ
