Dumaguete City shooting guard named NCAA MVP

San Beda University shooting guard Calvin Oftana, a native of Dumaguete City, was recently named MVP for the 95th NCAA men’s basketball season.
Oftana earned the title after averaging 15.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 18 games this season.
Meanwhile, fellow San Beda players Evan Nelle and James Canlas took second and third place, respectively, in the MVP race.
San Beda was also recognized for Best Foreign Player with center Donald Tankoua taking the title.
