The Creamline Cool Smashers are set to take on PetroGazz Angels in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference finals, which begin tonight at the San Juan Arena.
Creamline veterans Alyssa Valdez and Julia Morado acknowledged, despite beating PetroGazz twice during the regular conference, they should not take their opponents for granted.
“I think one of the strengths of PetroGazz, going from the reinforced conference to the all-Filipino, is we can see their confidence,” Valdez said. “We can see ‘yung naguumapaw, lumalabas talaga, overflowing talaga ‘yung confidence (We can see their confidence is overflowing).
For Morado, she said, “PetroGazz isn’t a joke; they’re not a team that we can relax with.”
“They’ve been playing really well,” she added.
Aside from Valdez and Morado, Creamline also boats Jessica Galanza, Michele Gumabao, Risa Sato, Celine Domingo, and Pau Soriano on their roster. For PetroGazz, they have Chie Saet, Jovielyn Prado, Jonah Sabete, Paneng Mercado, Jeanette Panaga, and Cherry Nunag.
