Businesswoman Catherine ‘Kate’ Brios, who also serves as Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) director, slammed the allegations made by Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Erfe Del Castillo, who claimed she was was involved in a December 2018 ambush on the latter.
In a press conference over the weekend with Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo and Brios’ legal counsel, Atty. Jose Max Ortiz, she denied any connection with Clarence Dongail, a former police officer who is currently behind bars.
Brios slammed, what she referred to as, Del Castillo’s inconsistency, saying, in an earlier press conference, she was called the “mastermind” and, now, Dongail was supposedly in charge.
“[Del Castillo] claims that I’m best friends with Dongail’s wife,” the MTRCB official stated. “I didn’t even know Dongail’s face nor his wife except from news excerpts,”
“She is inconsistent and, [it] is very apparent, these are all a product of her wild imagination and hallucination,” she added.
Panelo, meanwhile, confirmed President Rodrigo Duterte has already ordered an investigation into Del Castillo after her appointment as assistant provincial prosecutor despite currently facing charges.
In response to Brios’ latest statements, Del Castillo insisted there is a conspiracy to murder her and that she is open to any investigation.
She also called on Panelo; Bacolod City Police Office deputy director, Police Lt. Colonel Jovie Espenido; and Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia to be wary of Brios./DGB, WDJ
