The 410 illegal settlers residing on a two-hectare property owned by Roy Yanson formally received their lots at a relocation site located at Sitio Pedring in Bacolod City’s Barangay Estefania. The ceremony took place last Saturday and was led by Del Rio Realty and Development Bacolod, Inc. project head Mark Yanson and Managing Director Mel Yanson Rivero.
Yanson Rivero said the turnover and transfer of land will take place next year, on October 10. By that time, it is expected all informal settlers will have vacated the lot located next to the Burgos Public Market.
She added, their company acquired the five-hectare property and divided it into lots ranging in size from 30 square meters (sq. m) to 60 sq. m depending on the present area that they occupy in Barangay 19. In addition, water and electricity line connections are also ready.
Yanson Rivero added, each recipient will also receive P5,000.
“Their standard of living will be leveled up,” she stated.
Aside from financial assistance, the Yanson family will also provide five tricycles for the community’s homeowners association, with income generated from the vehicle going towards the association./DGB, WDJ
