Duterte sends proxy

After the much-hyped arrival of President Rodrigo Duterte to Bacolod City for the ongoing MassKara Festival, the chief executive, due to reported “unbearable pain,” sent Department of Tourism Undersecretary Edwin Enrile in his place.
“The fact that he had intended to come is already good enough,” said Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia. “[He] already graced the MassKara Festival for the past three years.”
“Effectively, we will still be graced by the president for the fourth time,” the mayor added. “He sent his official representative.”
According to an earlier statement by Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo, Duterte is suffering from “unbearable pain” after a motorcycle accident.
Electric MassKara, one of the highlights of the ongoing MassKara Festival, kicked off last night at the Ayala Capitol Central Mall with the Grand Masskara Light Show./WDJ
