Negrense leads DLSU over FEU in UAAP women’s basketball

Negrense player Kent Jane Pastrana tallied 23 points, seven rebounds, and four assists for De La Salle University (DLSU) in their recent 63-47 win over Far Eastern University in the 82nd UAAP women’s basketball season at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Other players contributing to DLSU’s win were Chuchi Paraiso with 11 points and Maureen Okoli adding seven points, 11 boards, and three blocks.
DLSU jumped to a 31-22 halftime advantage, which later grew to a 28-point edge, taking a 57-29 lead in the third quarter.
“Credit to the girls because we’re fighting for survival,” said DLSU head coach Cholo Villanueva. “The way they’re playing, there’s a sense of urgency and they’ll do whatever they can to fight for that slot.”
In other results, National University pulled off a 74-70 victory over the University of Santo Tomas, while Ateneo de Manila University scored an 81-70 overtime win over the University of the East./ASC, WDJ
