Ride-sharing service Grab Philippines formally launched GrabFood in Bacolod City yesterday morning. Grab said in a statement, they introduced GrabFood in the city in order to “banner the excellent culinary scene, promote local entrepreneurs, and enable Negrenses to do more and get their favorite food where and when they want it.”
Participating food establishments include Aida’s, Bar 21, Inaka, L’Kaisei, L’Sea, El Ideal, Merzci Pasalubong; fast food chains McDonald’s, Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King; among others.
Earlier this year, Grab Philippines announced they would suspend the accounts of customers who cancel food orders or those who are not available when the delivery arrives.
“Grab continues to tighten its policies to curb this abusive behavior and customers who exhibit abuses of our no-show policies will soon face account penalties, including possible account suspension,” the company said in a statement.
Last month, a deliveryman for GrabFood was seen selling a milk tea order worth P1,900 after the customer failed to show up to claim the order.
In response to the incident, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian filed a bill that would transfer the “risk” of customer no-shows to Grab Philippines./DGB, WDJ
