Ceres-Negros FC midfielder Stephan Schröck is under consideration as a reinforcement for the Philippine men’s U-22 national football team that is set to compete at the upcoming 2019 Southeast Asian Games. The international competition, which is hosted by the Philippines this year, is scheduled to formally run from November 30 to December 11.
“’Schrocky’ has expressed interest [in being] part of the U-22 team as an over-aged player,” explained team manager Dan Palami in an interview.
Each team is allowed two over-age players.
Schröck was part of the Philippine men’s national football team that held China to a scoreless draw last week at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City in the second round of the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds.
During the 2017 SEA Games in Malaysia, the men failed to advance to the knockout round after finishing fourth in their group.
