PetroGazz sweeps Chef’s Classics in the Open Conference

The PetroGazz Angels extended their winning streak to seven games following a recent 25-21, 25-14, 25-12 sweep of the Chef’s Classics Red Spikers in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the San Juan Arena.
Jonah Sabete contributed a double-double for PetroGazz with 12 points and 12 excellent digs, while Jovielyn Prado and Cherry Nunag each added 10 markers.
“Tinitingnan pa rin talaga namin ‘yung consistent ng laro namin (We are really looking to keep our game consistent),” explained PetroGazz head coach Arnold Laniog. “At the same time, at kaya naming mapangalagaan yung number two spot talaga all the way (As the same time, we can hold on to our number two spot all the way).”
In the other match, after dropping the first set, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans pulled off a 19-25, 25-21, 25-15, 28-26 win over the Motolite Power Builders.
Kat Tolentino led Choco Mucho with 27 points on 22 attacks, along with four kill blocks; while Madeleine Madayag hammered-in 15 points laced with three rejections.
Choco Mucho’s win comes ahead of today’s encounter with the Creamline Cool Smashers at the University of San Agustin gym in Iloilo City./ASC, WDJ
