Suspect wounded after engaging cops

At least P200,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized late Thursday night following a buy-bust operation and shootout in Bacolod City’s Barangay Mansilingan. Police identified the arrested suspect as 22-year-old Judy Regala, a resident of the said area.
Based on information provided by Police Station 7 (PS7), they moved in on Regala after he sold one sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P300. However, instead of giving up, the suspect allegedly pulled out a .38 caliber revolver and opened fire.
Cops immediately retaliated and wounded Regala in the process.
The suspect was later rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment.
A subsequent search yielded four sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, the P300 marked money, a .38 caliber revolver with two empty casings, and one live bullet.
Aside from the illegal drugs charges, Regala could potentially face illegal possession of firearms charges.
