PRO-6 to deploy 1,600 cops across Bacolod City

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokesperson and deputy director, Police Lt. Colonel Ariel Pico, recently revealed 1,600 Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) officers will be deployed across the city during this year’s MassKara Festival. He pointed out, the figure does not include those from other law enforcement and security agencies such as the Special Action Force, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, and other force multipliers.
The police official said PRO-6 personnel will be evenly spread throughout the city’s main festival sites, which will be located at the Bacolod City Government Center, the Lacson tourism strip, and Bacolod Public Plaza.
With BCPO now finalizing its security plans, Pico said they sent a letter to Philippine National Police national headquarters requesting a total gun ban and signal jamming during the festival.
Contingency plans have also been prepared for any incidents and accidents./DGB, WDJ
