CLO: Eviction notices sent since 2016
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga

According to Barangay 31 Captain German Bullolaza, the Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) City Enforcement Team will be demolishing 39 homes in the neighborhood. He noted, on September 30, the CLO served a final notice the owners of the illegal structures, informing them they are occupying a portion of government property, which is considered public nuisance.
“The City Enforcement Team will commence [with] the demolition of your structures along the road right-of-way at Luzuriaga and Sta. Ana Streets of the said barangay,” noted CLO Attorney III Reuben Mikhail Sabig.
He pointed out, notices to voluntarily vacate and remove illegal structures have been distributed since October 7, 2016; along with another notice sent on March 29, 2017 that gave occupants more than 30 days to process the relocation assistance.
Demolition schedule is today.
Earlier this week, Bullolaza appeared to the Sangguniang Panlungsod asking for both assistance and to postpone the demolition pending approval of a relocation site.
He suggested giving them until the end of the school year./DGB, WDJ
