Bacolod City Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Director Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag recently affirmed their department has not authorized any individuals or groups to conduct road checks, which includes checking and establishing road easement measurements with regard to the ongoing clearing operations.
According to Barangay Taculing Captain Lady Gles Pallen, who also leads the city’s Liga ng mga Barangay, there was an unidentified person roaming several Bacolod City barangays who would introduce himself as being affiliated with DILG. However, she noted, the unidentified person has no identification card.
The barangay official said the individual would question certain measurements, which would confuse the affected resident.
Pallen added, the individual also demanded P200 from residents.
