Vidaković: We still have seven matches to play

Following their 2-0 win over Kaya FC-Iloilo earlier this week in the 2019 Philippines Football League, Ceres-Negros FC currently leads the league by nine points; however, head coach Risto Vidaković said it is premature to think about a possible three-peat as the season is still ongoing.
“It was a big win for us—we beat our direct opponent for the title and it’s very, very important but we need to continue as we have seven games more,” he explained. “We have to win four games to be sure that we are champions again.”
Meanwhile, Ceres FC striker OJ Porteria, who scored the second goal in their recent win, echoed the coach’s sentiment.
“We don’t feel like we won the league already because we have seven games left,” he said. “Our task is to win every single game that we have coming up.”
The Bacolod City-based club remains undefeated in the league and only dropped points once after a 2-2 draw with Stallion Laguna FC in the season opener. The two sides meet again this weekend, September 22./ASC, WDJ
