The University of the East (UE) officially opened the 82nd UAAP men’s basketball season with two straight defeats following their 81-65 loss to Far Eastern University (FEU) yesterday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
LJ Gonzales flirted with a triple-double for FEU with 16 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.
FEU opened with an 8-0, which they built to a double-digit edge. UE tried to rally in the second but FEU managed to maintain an eight-point halftime edge. While UE tried to keep pace with FEU in the second half, Pat Tchuente and Gonzales went on to push the eventual winners to a 16-point lead.
