Book launch this weekend at UNO-R

The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) is set to hold an event this weekend with the books “Saint Ezequiél Moreno: Augustinian Recollect Icon of Holiness in the Mission” and “St. Ezequiél Moreno: Studies on his Missionary Activity in the Philippines” set to launch on Saturday, September 7, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the UNO-R President’s Hall.
Both books document aspects of Ezequiél Moreno’s life, a Spanish priest who did missionary work in the Philippines and Colombia. While in the Philippines, he worked in area such as Palawan, Oriental Mindoro, and Iloilo.
He was later beatified by Pope Paul VI in 1975 and canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1992.
The authors of “Augustinian Recollect Icon of Holiness in the Mission,” Dr. Dennis V. Madrigal and Professor Emmanuel Luis A. Romanillos, will address the event. Complimentary signed copies will also be distributed.
A similar launch will also be held on Sunday, September 8, at the Santo Tomas de Villanueva Formation Center in San Carlos City; along with another event at the University of San Jose-Recoletos main campus in Cebu City on Tuesday, September 10.
Meanwhile, the UNO-R Student Catholic Action Alumni Association will also be holding charity gospel concert today and tomorrow at the St. Nicholas of Tolentino oratory.
Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting ministry activities in Sierra Leone./WDJ
