Bacolod Vendors’ Plaza market supervisor Jonah Abao said the City Market Committee yesterday gave sidewalk vendors an ultimatum and ordered them to relocate to the said plaza within five to seven days. He said there are around 380 qualified vendors who are eligible for stalls.
The downtown area was supposed to be cleared of sidewalk vendors last Sunday, September 1.
Abao said the city is currently in the process of rehabilitating the facility and called on vendors to have patients. Some vendors have claimed the plaza is without water and toilet facilities but the market supervisor dismissed their complaints.
They have also raised concerns as there are currently very few customers at the Bacolod Vendors’ Plaza./DGB, WDJ
