A Himamaylan City family was abducted last Friday when armed men barged into their home at Bangga Miñez in the city’s Barangay 4. Police were eventually able to rescue the victims, who were recovered unharmed.
The victims were identified as Edilia Pacheco, her daughter Aiza, Sherwin dela Rosa, and 16- year old boy. Daycare worker Teresita Camanso was also among the abducted. She was sleeping over at the time of the incident.
According to Himamaylan City police chief, Lt. Colonel Erwin Glenn Provido, the victims were blindfolded and brought to a waiting shed in Mabinay, Negros Oriental.
Camanso told police the suspects, who wore bonnets and were armed with high-powered firearms, asked if there were New People’s Army members living in the house.
She added, the suspects also provided fare after leaving the family in Mabinay.
Himamaylan City police are currently conducting an investigation into the incident./DGB, WDJ
