Ceres-Negros FC maintained their six-point lead atop the 2019 Philippines Football League (PFL) table after their 4-1 win over Mendiola FC earlier this week at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa City, Batangas.
The Bacolod City-based side quickly jumped to a 2-0 lead after midfielder Mike Ott scored in the 17th minute, followed by striker Robert Lopez Mendy adding another one five minutes later. However, Mendiola managed to pull one back in the 30th minute with a goal from midfielder Allen Angeles.
Nearing the end of the first half, Lopez Mendy secured a brace with his second goal in the 41st minute.
Following the halftime break, Ott scored his second goal in the 60th minute.
Ceres continues to lead the PFL on 37 points, ahead of Kaya FC-Iloilo in second place with 31 points./ASC, WDJ
