A 2.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded just south of Anini-y on Monday morning, around 10:48 a.m.
According to a subsequent Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology bulletin, no damages were reported in the Antique town nor were there aftershocks expected.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected.
Last June, two earthquakes struck Anini-y in quick succession, occurring within 17 minutes of one another. The first tremor, a 2.9-magnitude quake, struck south of the Antique municipality just after 10:08 a.m.; then, just before 10:26, a 2.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the same vicinity.
Prior to that, a 3.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded near the same town last May./WDJ
