Teenage suspect was a ‘high-value drug target’

A local Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman was arrested late Monday night in Mabinay, Negros Oriental following a buy-bust operation in the town’s Barangay Bulibulihan.
Police identified the arrested suspect as 19-year-old Adonis Kabristante, the incumbent SK chairman for the town’s Barangay Canggohob.
Based on information provided by the Mabinay Municipal Police Station, Kabrisante was identified as a high-value drug target and had previously surrendered to local police. However, authorities continued to receive information regarding the SK official’s illegal drug activities, which prompted them to conduct the buy-bust.
Cops seized one sachet of suspected shabu, P500 in buy-bust money, and a mobile phone from Kabrisante.
