The Metro 3rd International Study Program recently awarded 13 students from the Negros Occidental third congressional district five-year scholarships to study in China. The students will be studying at the Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Beijing Technology and Business University.
In order to determine eligibility, students underwent a screening and evaluation.
Last year’s batch of seven students took a one-year preparatory proficiency course in Chinese language before proceeding with their major coursework.
According to the Asia University Rankings 2019, compiled by the Times Higher Education, the Beijing Institute of Technology ranked in the Top 200 at 126. Out of a total 28,910 students, foreign students make up around eight percent of the student body./WDJ
