A police officer was arrested over the weekend after he was caught in the act of smoking marijuana at the St. Joseph Courtyard, located along Lacson Street om Bacolod City’s Barangay 37.
Police identified the suspect as 32-year-old Patrolman Bryn Jephtha Gimotea, a resident of Barangay 2, Himamaylan City who was attending a field training course in the city.
Bacolod City Police Office spokesperson, Police Lt. Colonel Ariel Pico, said Gimotea was arrested by his own field training officer, Police Senior Master Sgt. Emmanuel Alonsogay, who is also assigned under Police Station 1.
Police recovered one improvised cigarette rolling pipe containing suspected dried marijuana, along with one plastic sachet of suspected dried marijuana.
Aside from criminal raps, Gimotea could also face administrative charges.
He is presently detained at Police Station 1/DGB, WDJ
