PacificTown-Army Lady Troopers recently pulled off a 25-23, 25-23, 17-25, 25-20 win over the BanKo Perlas Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the San Juan Arena.
Jem Guttierez top-scored for PacificTown-Army with 22 points, including 20 attacks; while Honey Royce Tubino added 19 markers with 17 coming from attacks; Jovelyn Gonzaga of Guimaras adding eight points and 12 excellent receptions; and Lutgarda Malaluan finishing with eight markers.
After narrowly winning the first two sets, PacificTown-Army dropped the third. However, Guttierez and Tubino took the lead to secure the fourth set.
“Happy kasi first game [namin], considering na nanalo si BanKo sa PetroGazz, momentum sila tapos first time kami na lalaro ng all-Filipino (We are happy because it was our first game and, considering the BanKo Perlas Spikers earlier beat the PetroGazz Angels, they had the momentum; plus, it was our first time playing in the All-Filipino Conference),” said PacificTown-Army coach Emilio Reyes./ASC, WDJ
