The CEU Scorpions continued their undefeated streak, going 3-0 in the ongoing PBA D-League Foundation Cup, following their recent 86-77 win over the AMA Online Education Titans at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Maodo Malick Diouf led CEU with 18 points, 23 rebounds, five assists, five blocks, along with the dunk with 37.3 seconds left in the game that sealed the victory. Also contributing to the win were Rich Guinitaran with 16 points; Dave Bernabe offering up a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards; and Franz Diaz, who collected 10 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
“I think we just have to stay focused on our immediate goal, which is to make it to the next round or even make it to the top two,” said CEU head coach Derrick Pumaren.
After squandering a 17-point lead, CEU regrouped and went on a 14-4 run, extending their narrow 64-63 lead to 78-67 with just over five minutes left in the game./ASC, WDJ
