The Iloilo provincial government recently received 45 computers from Banco de Oro (BDO) last week during a ceremonial turnover. The units will be distributed to 42 localities across the province with the remaining two going to the Iloilo Public Employment Service Office.
According to Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr., the donation will help jobseekers in the future.
“We want to create a database at the barangay level,” he explained. “Like how many nursing and commerce graduates they have so that they will be ready to match the opportunities.”
Meanwhile, BDO Senior Vice President Geneva T. Gloria hoped to continue working with the province.
“Hopefully, this is not the end,” she said. “There [are] a lot of opportunities that we can do together.”/WDJ
