19-year old drug suspect arrested at Bacolod City checkpoint

A suspected drug personality was arrested Monday night by Police Station 2 (PS2) personnel conducting a checkpoint at the Sto. Niño Stop in Bacolod City’s Barangay 2.
Police identified the arrested suspect as 19-year-old Joren Nilay, a resident of the city’s Barangay Tangub.
Based on information forwarded by PS2, their team, which was led by deputy commander, Police Lieutenant Florentino Abalayan, was conducting a checkpoint when they flagged down Nilay for not wearing a helmet.
Following a search of the suspect, police recovered one elongated sachet of suspected shabu, which resulted in his arrest.
The seized illicit substance weighed a total of 1.25 grams and is valued at P15,000.
