Store closed due to unpaid rent
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga

The Ceres Mart location at the Ceres Bus Liner North Terminal in Bacolod City’s Barangay Bata has been ordered closed by Olivia Yanson, matriarch of the Yanson clan that runs Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI), parent company of the Ceres bus liner.
In an order signed by Yanson last month, which was addressed to her daughter Emily Yanson, she ordered the establishment closed claiming the latter had failed to pay rent since the terminal initially opened in 2015.
“I am respectfully giving you 24 hours to vacate,” she stated in the letter.
In response, Ceres Mart said they are independent from the Yanson Group of Bus Companies and claimed they are “caught in the crossfire” of the ongoing conflict.
They also reported the store was padlocked two days after the order was issued with store personnel alleging “constant harassment” from armed guards and supporters of the family matriarch.
As of yesterday, the store’s electricity has been cut.
Store management added, they are “only making a living by selling bread, treats, and groceries for the convenience of the riding public.”/DGB, WDJ
