The Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ceneco) recently revealed rates for July 2019 will increase by around 29¢, from last month’s rate of P10.7198 per kilowatt hour (kWh) to P11.0103/kWh.
According to a statement from the utility co-op, they attributed the increase to the power rate, which includes generation charges, transmission charges, and system loss; along with universal charges and the value-added tax (VAT).
Data provided by Ceneco showed power rates saw around a 24¢ increase, universal charges rose by around 5¢, and VAT charges remained steady with a marginal increase./WDJ
