The Philippine Army in Negros is urging the public to support the Negros Oriental Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NOTF-ELCAC), an organization created by Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo to combat the New People’s Army (NPA).
“The NOTF-ELCAC is a boost in our fight against the NPA in Negros,” explained Philippine Army 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, Brigadier General Benedict Arevalo. “Rest assured, the army will give our continuous commitment in its success.”
“I also encourage local government agencies, local government units, and the people to fully support the task force,” he added.
According to Degamo, “The government is serious in pursuing zero insurgency in the province.”
The governor also announced the task force will be launched next week./DGB, WDJ
