A Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) resolution has been forwarded urging city environment agencies to inspect establishments along the Barangay Punta Taytay viewing deck to confirm they are in compliance with local sewage standards.
The resolution, authored by City Councilor Carl Lopez, was passed by the SP during last week’s regular session.
While the policy sought to enforce local regulations, the resolution cited RA 9275, or the Philippine Clean Water Act, which is intended to ensure the concurrent growth of the economy and protection of marine waters.
The City Environment and Natural Resources Office, Environmental Bureau, and the City Legal Office will be in charge of inspections./DGB, WDJ
